What a difference a day makes
With Magnus and Camilla everyday begins with a smile. And if you are lucky enough to be counted among their many fiends, then yours surely will too. Especially today, as we wake up after their perfect wedding, the first day of the rest of their lives together. Here’s a little taste of their wedding story so far…
I was lucky enough to travel to the wedding location the day before and do some location hunting, trekking up and down this vast landscape, looking for somewhere both suitable for and accessible for wedding portraits. I’d been at the ceremony walk through earlier in the day and the way in which the mind of honour was mimicking helping Camilla with her wedding dress, suggested it would not be the sort of garment which warrants being dragged through Oppdal’s more rugged terrains!
At the end of the day the answer was right infant of me: both the wedding venue and the church that Magnus and Camilla had chosen were perfect! Oppdal Church and Bjerkeljøkka are two of the sorts of venues you dream of taking photos at. It took a while for this to dawn on me, but the view during the evening meal certainly helped seal the deal.
On the morning of the wedding Magnus and his buddies got up early for jogging and yoga!
Meanwhile Camilla was in town getting ready. She has more of a champagne regime going on – a girl after my own heart. As usual it is during this period that I got to work who was who, in terms of parents and maids of honour and so on. they were all very welcoming, though I suspect Camilla’s dad was not too welcoming of the fact I caught him putting in hairspray for the big day!

Meanwhile back at the hotel, Sverre’s was struggling with the bowtie, whilst Magnus checked the time
One of the best parts of the day is always that 15 minutes or so before the bride comes down the aisle. Loads of anticipation and a hum of excitement. Oppdal Church was the perfect setting, and here she comes…
The bit directly after the ceremony, whilst full of joy, can be a bit of a chore – lots of people to manage and s short time to do so. But I am happy to say that this was actually one of the highlights of Magnus Camilla’s wedding: a bubble, a cuddle, a muddle (of folk) and straight on to the portraits without any kerfuffle!
The portraits are never a chore, especially with a group of people and a bottle of champagne. that is one of my mots for life in fact. And as usual I will post just a couple of the portrait session and allow the newlyweds to send you more when they are ready!
And finally came the dinner and party. Phew! I am as exhausted writing this blog as I was attending this all day, all night Magnus-and-Camilla bonanza! Worth every second though, and if their lives together can be half as enjoyable as the weekend they have just treated to, then they are going to be two very happy love birds indeed.
Such a beautiful couple with a love for each other that radiates and lights up every room with their presence. Congratulations Camilla and Magnus, may your love last a lifetime and more.
Thanks Martin. That is very kind. I read about you wife on FB, so nice that you can spread the love on what must be a very sad day for you. Stay cool!
